NJ Cup Receives Record Registrations

The New Jersey Cup – US Club Youth Soccer State Cup – has received a record number of registrations this Spring with a total of 967 teams applied.  For its 4th straight year they have cracked the 900 team registration mark, but there is still a small window of time to get it to 1000.

The number of teams applied is astounding if you think where it was just 13 years ago with its 2005 kickoff tournament.  Tournament Director Bob Kuzbyt recently shared with me an email he sent to US Club ahead of the inaugural Championship weekend.

“The first-ever New Jersey Cup finals and semifinals were held Saturday, May 7
2005, at four adjacent fields at Mercer County Park in West Windsor.
Preliminary-round matches in most groups were held in April and May at club’s
home fields.

68 total teams paid and entered: 50 boys’ and 18 girls’.”

68 teams to 967 shows tremendous growth and sustainability in this well ran NJ Cup Tournament that I suggest all US Club teams take a crack at.
The deadline to apply is today, February 1st, and NJ Cup online registration is expected to close sometime tonight, so you have one last chance to get your team in!  Tournament Brackets are expected to follow shortly, which we will definitely provide a link to on NJTravelSoccerBlog.com as soon as they are released!
