My Favorite Goal of All Time – Maxi Rodriguez (Argentina)

Not many of today’s youth know of this goal or even know of Maxi Rodriguez, but his goal in the 2006 World Cup against Mexico is my all time favorite.  It may because I watched the game live and have a distinct memory of losing my mind when he finished it, but the technique and skill it takes to score a goal like this is so impressive I thought I would share it with everyone.

A full width of the field cross, taking it off the chest and volleying into into the opposite corner is just ridiculous.  Yes, the pressure on him isn’t immediate, but it is such a difficult goal on the world stage.  I challenge you to post a better goal than that one…

*If you look closely, you’ll recognize little Lionel Messi involved in the switch of play in his first World Cup!
